Players were quite excited to play due to weather. “It felt awkward, because there was absolutely no wind whatsoever,” Tiger Woods said. “And you never play a links golf course with no wind.” Post seventh hole, Tiger Woods luck worked.

World No. 1 Woods shot 5-under-par 67 and is in a tie for eighth. Mickelson shot 73 and is tied for 97th. There’s no need to force it,” said Woods, who opened with 66 and 67 in 2000 and 2005 when he won the last two times the Open was at St. Andrews.

Oosthuizen was able to finish -5 and finished with a 67. Saturday will have to be a makeup day for players inlcuding World No.1 Tiger Woods who had some great moments here to make up for the shaky start.
