Google Gmail phone calls

According to Google’s tweet Gmail phone service handled over 1 million calls in its first 24 hours. A million calls is a major achievement for a service. Google had launched a program that would allow Gmail users to make cheap or free phone calls without a Google Voice account.

The users need to download and install the voice and video browser plug-in and need to be signed into their Gmail account in order to use the new feature. Google announced that the call to the US and Canada will be free till this year. Google is offering international calling at rates competitive to other VoIP-like offerings.
