The people are now demanding answers from the Philippine government on hijacking issue. The rally was organised by both pro-Beijing and pro-democracy political parties.

Eman Villanueva, vice chairman of the Filipino Migrant Workers’ Union said “Most of the people in Hong Kong know that it is not the Filipino people they should be angry at. I think that’s why there are only isolated cases of dismissals or ill treatment towards Filipinos.”

The Philippines government ordered a detail investigation into last Monday’s incident. Hong Kong police sent five officers and two forensic experts to assist the Philippine investigation.

The rally shows the anger and unity of the Hong Kong people.
